Next Number Request

Next Number generation in Series Management replaces the Excel-based process previously used to request numbers when designing new component parts. The read-only, archived version of the Excel spreadsheet can be found at:

Filters

The Series Management landing page shows all active part series, whether finished good or component part, though you can filter the list in a few ways:

• A toggle switch at the top of the page allows you to filter the full series list to only those that support the creation of a new sequence number. Generally, by default, the toggle will be set to only show series that allow next number generation.
• You can also type the Series Code in the Search filter to filter directly to that series.

Next Number Generation

To create reserve a new number for a given part series:

1. Search for the series in the series list

2. Select the VIEW NUMBERS button in the table row; a panel will open showing the list of reserved numbers for the selected series

   • NOTE - Some series have sub-options that can have different sequence numbers based on a series option code (ex. T-1M, T-1R, etc.) After clicking VIEW NUMBERS, select the appropriate option from the dropdown to see the numbers for that option.
     

3. Select the ADD NEXT NUMBER button
   

4. Enter a description into the text field and click the SAVE button
   

Series Management will assign the next available number for the selected series and display the result at the top of the list.
